What Is Free Telephony and How Do I Get It?
Free Telephony is exactly what it sounds like: a completely free way to use Vapi-managed phone numbers. These numbers are limited to U.S. area codes (see our docs). Once you’ve created a free Vapi number, you can make and receive calls at no cost—perfect for getting started quickly and building on real telephony infrastructure.
How to Get Free Telephony with Vapi:
- Go to the “Phone Numbers” tab in your Vapi dashboard.
- Click “Create a Phone Number.”
- In the “Free Vapi Number” tab, enter the U.S. area code you want.
- We’ll automatically allot you a random phone number—free of charge!
You can add up to 10 free phone numbers per wallet. For additional numbers or non-U.S. regions, please use the paid Import Phone Numbers feature.
