Building voice agents is an iterative process. But as your agents get more complex, so does everything around them like - tracking changes, avoiding misconfigurations and keeping stakeholders in sync.
So based on your feedback, we’ve shipped these 3 updates to the Vapi dashboard that make it easier to build, experiment, and collaborate:
1. Version Preview
This feature is for the devs who value a clean git diff.
Before hitting publish, you can now see a diff view that highlights any unpublished changes compared to your live version. This will help you review any changes you’re about to publish and ensure that you configure assistants exactly the way you want
Whether you’re editing prompts, modifying flows, or tweaking config, this makes reviewing (and catching mistakes) a lot simpler.
To access Version Preview:
- Go to your assistants dashboard.
- Click on the drop down beside the published button
- Click on View Changes.
2. Version History
We’ve all been there where something breaks after a change, and now you’re wondering what the previous config looked like.
With Version History, you can now track every version of your assistant.
Whether you’re comparing iterations or reverting to something that just worked, this gives you the confidence to experiment without fear of losing progress.
To access Version History:
- Go to your assistants dashboard.
- Click on the hamburger icon beside the published button
- Click on Version History.
3. Role Based Access Control (RBAC)
If you need your PM, analysts or ops team to review agent flow without accidentally updating the production, you can now do it easily with RBAC in your Vapi organization.
The roles now available to orgs are:
- Admin: Read and Write Everything
- Editor: Read and Write Everything. Except: Org Settings, Billing, Members, API Keys
- Viewer: Read Everything. Except: Org Settings, Billing, Members, API Keys
This makes it easy to keep non-technical teammates in the loop, while keeping edit access limited to the devs who are actually working on the agent.
To access RBAC:
- Go to your Org settings.
- Click on Members
- And now click on invite a new member by their email id and then assign a role to them.
