Inquiry Regarding Testing Costs and Plan Options

I am writing to you regarding the following.
I recently started testing a voice bot and prompt setup using your Vapi platform. To my surprise, I noticed that even during the testing and development phase—while I am still fine-tuning my prompt—I am already required to pay per call and per minute.
I find this approach rather unusual. With other platforms such as Bland.AI, I am able to test my prompts extensively without incurring any costs, and payment only starts once the bot is taken live.
In addition, I find the current available plans—“Pay as You Go” and “Enterprise”—quite limited and not very appealing, especially for startups. At this stage, I am still exploring the viability of my idea and actively testing to see whether my concept has real potential. This requires me to iterate and refine my prompts frequently before I can move on to acquiring actual clients.
I would therefore like to know what options there are for someone in my situation—an early-stage tester looking to assess whether their bot and business concept have a future.
