HELP - Team set up

Hey Vapi 👋 I’ve just set up an organization and I’m in the process of adding my developers. Right now, the only role I can see available is editor and viewer but my team have asked for admin access - could someone please confirm if there’s a way to give developers build access without full admin permissions (e.g., billing or team removal rights)? as I'm not really sure if this is required. If possible, could someone from the team DM me about this? I have a few other private queries as well. Thank you so much for the help 🙏

Hey! I can help you set proper build access for your developers without giving full admin rights. There are a few safe role configurations and API-based workarounds for that. Could you confirm if your team mainly handles voice app builds or API integrations too? @A

Thanks for reaching out — great questions! You’re right — the Editor role is the best option for your developers. It gives them full build and testing access without exposing sensitive areas like billing or user management. They should be able to do everything they need for development under that role. Alternatively, if you’d prefer to fully separate development from production, you can create another organization as a dedicated dev environment. You’ll just need to top up credits there when needed — no need to save payment info, but note that it will be a separate organization. You’ll still be able to switch between both easily and invite your developers as admins in the new dev org. To create the new org: 1. Go to your Vapi Dashboard. 2. In the top-left corner, click your organization name. 3. Choose “Switch orgs” → “Create new org.” 4. Do the initial top-up of credits to activate it. 5. Once created, invite your developers as Admins for that dev org. Let us know once it’s set up — we can double-check that everything is connected properly. Best, Kyle Vapi Support
