Urgent: Google Calendar integration broken for all accounts (system-wide outage)
I would like to bring to your attention a critical issue: the Google Calendar integration is currently failing for all VAPI accounts attempting to connect.
The OAuth flow with Google completes and shows “successfully connected,” but after being redirected back to VAPI, the integration status still displays “Connect” and the connection does not persist. As a result, none of the Google Calendar tools (e.g. google.calendar.event.create, google.calendar.availability.check) can be used.
In many cases the error message shown is:
Missing Nango configuration for tool type: google.calendar.event.create
This is not isolated to my account. Multiple other users have reported exactly the same behavior. Below are currently active links to such user complaint threads:

Because this affects all accounts, it is a blocking issue: without a working calendar connection, scheduling and assistant features relying on calendar functions won’t work.
Please confirm that this is recognized as a bug and provide a status update and estimated time of fix.
Google Calendar Check Availability tool issue - VAPI
Google calendar check availabilty tool is not working. I'm talking about the built in VAPI tool.
When a slot is booked at a given time , it still says in the assistant that the slot is available. I have cross checked the time zones. Has anyone faced this issue before ? I have attached screenshots for reference. Any response will be very apprecia...
Google Calendar Check Availability Issue - VAPI
Hello, the Google calendar check availability tool appears to return no data when called. As such the calendar creates an overlapping appointment. This happens no matter how I prompt the system. I’ve read the discord and documents but no suggestion appears to work (e.g. disconnect integration and reconnect, delete and recreate tool, etc…)...

I’m working on integrating Google Calendar with a VAPI assistant, my goal is to let users connect with their calendar without using the vapi dashboard
What I’ve Got:

Users authorize via our frontend; we store access + refresh tokens securely
I want each assistant to have calendar a...

Second that! it´s a pretty pain in the ass. We are working with several people since a few days to fix this and now it seems like its a vapi problem. All Support we got until now was the regular please connect your account message, which doens´t help at all.

As mentioned in a different post, this behavior is the same for Google Sheets. Clearly a VAPI issue that has been ongoing for a very long time considering how important this integration is.

why should not you implement the Restful backend for this? I have implemented the backend apis which can register google calendar meeting and sheet access. also defines the apiRequest tools for that backend, so Assistant calls that tools
We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused, but we appreciate you flagging the issue. This has been reported to the team and we will provide an update once we hear back.
