Vapi voicemail problems
Problem - Despite configuring my Assistant's 'First Message' field and 'System Prompt' with a custom voicemail message for 'Dental Stars', when a call goes to voicemail, it consistently plays 'Hello, this is Riley from Wellness Partners'. It often cuts off the beginning of my intended message (e.g., 'confirm your appointment...') and then immediately switches to the 'Riley' message. Its playing a whole different voicemail from the first message that its supposed to play.

- Adjusted "Max Voicemail Message Wait" (even to very high values like 10-15s).
- Adjusted "Initial Detection Delay" and "Max Detection Retries."
- Set "First Message Mode" to Assistant waits for user and cleared the "First Message" field (then tried putting the voicemail in the "First Message" field as well).
- Updated the "System Prompt" with extremely explicit instructions for voicemail handling and the exact message.
- Confirmed Make.com API call to Vapi only sends assistantId and phoneNumberId (as firstMessage, voicemailMessage, and variables are not accepted in the API payload anymore).
- Changed first message mode to Assistant waits for user
