is there away if an ai assistant makes an outbound call and receives an answering machine, they can leave a simple message like "please call Dr Jones office at 888-111-2222"

Absolutely! When making an outbound call, if the AI assistant encounters an answering machine, it can certainly leave a message. You can specify the message you'd like to leave in the system by using the
assistant field to provide a temporary assistant that will handle the call and leave the message, or by specifying an assistantId if you have a pre-configured assistant for this purpose.
