Connecting GOIP gateway to VAPI – Is it possible?

Hi everyone, I’m working on integrating a GSM gateway (GOIP device – Dinstar model) with VAPI, and I was wondering if anyone here has tried linking a GOIP to VAPI, either directly or through Asterisk. My goal is to receive GSM calls on the GOIP and have them handled by a VAPI voice agent. Is this kind of setup supported? If yes, is there any documentation, tips, or examples available? I’d really appreciate any advice or shared experience from someone who has done something similar. Thanks in advance!

Our customers connect Dinstar and Grandstream go VAPI via Cloudonix, it requires some "originality", as connecting directly is not possible and connecting via Asterisk requires some dialplan heavy lifting. I suspect that your gateway is located in the UAE?

Hi, Thank you for your response! I’m interested in learning more about how Cloudonix enables the connection between a GSM gateway (Dinstar) and VAPI. Could you please share some additional information or documentation on your solution? I appreciate your help!

@Sahil it's impossible to connect a GSM gateway directly to VAPI, as they don't support FQDN based routing, as vapi requires. Also, they don't provide the proper challenge/response method that VAPI provides, so a direct connections isn't possible.

I've been investigating the issue with @leoo_7777 and it looks like we found a working solution via the Cloudonix SBC platform.
