Error “Key doesn’t allow assistantId” when trying to use my assistant with private API key
Hi Vapi team,
I’m experiencing an issue when trying to use one of my assistants from the dashboard and via my private API key.
The error I get is:
Key doesn’t allow assistantId '76401f2c-da97-4bca-9ef1-beecc6dcd803'
The assistant is called “Agendar_citas_automaticamente” and belongs to the project BluDFOpticosDonBenito.
I’m using my private API key from this same workspace, but for some reason, the key doesn’t seem to have permission to access the assistantId.
The assistant uses model gpt-4.1-mini (provider: OpenAI), transcriber deepgram, and voice eleven_flash_v2_5.
My suspicion is that the issue might come from a mismatch between the assistantId (UUID format, like OpenAI’s) and Vapi’s internal short ID (like 1eHr...).
Could you please verify whether this assistant is correctly linked to my BluDFOpticosDonBenito workspace, and confirm which assistantId I should be using with my private key?
