Urgent: Student Project Blocked by High Latency from India
Hello Vapi Team!
I'm a student developer from India working on a major project for my college. I emailed support earlier (Ticket likely from risheerishi@gmail.com) but was hoping to get some real-time help here.
I'm facing two main issues:
High Latency: I have a very good internet connection (39ms ping), but my latency to Vapi is extremely high (~1450 ms). This is causing the ready event to time out and makes the audio garbled. Is it possible to have my assistant moved to a server region in Asia (like Singapore or Mumbai) to fix this?
Student Credits: As this is a large-scale educational project, the initial free credits are not quite enough for full development and testing. Do you have any student developer programs or would a one-time credit extension be possible?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. This latency issue is the final blocker for my project. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing the details. To help diagnose the high latency issue, could you please specify which Vapi endpoint or SDK (including region or server URL, if custom) you are currently using for your assistant? This will help us determine if a region change or configuration adjustment could reduce your latency.

Thank you for the quick reply!
I am using the Vapi Web SDK (@v-api-ai/web).
I checked the Network tab in my browser's developer tools, and I can see the WebSocket connection is being made to a server at wss://api.vapi.ai/ws. I believe this means I am connected to your default US endpoint, which would explain the high latency from my location in India.
Could you please move my assistant to a server region in Asia (like Singapore or Mumbai) to resolve this issue?
Thank you
