Hi Vapi Support,
I'm following the Telnyx SIP integration guide (https://docs.vapi.ai/advanced/sip/telnyx) and encountering an issue at the "Configure SIP invite" step.
When I try to enter my Vapi SIP URI sip:vapi-telnyx-integration@sip.vapi.ai into the "Translated Number" field in Telnyx phone number settings, I get a validation error:
"Must contain only letters and numbers; no spacing allowed"
The field seems to not accept the SIP URI format with special characters (: @ .).
My setup:
Created Free Vapi SIP with identifier: vapi-telnyx-integration
Got SIP URI: sip:vapi-telnyx-integration@sip.vapi.ai
Created SIP Trunk in Telnyx with FQDN: sip.vapi.ai
Trying to configure phone number +12026447677
Questions:
Is the "Translated Number" field the correct place to enter the SIP URI?
Should I enter the URI in a different format?
Is there an alternative field or method to route calls from Telnyx to Vapi?
