Sound while tool call in progress
Is it possible to play a sound while a tool call is in progress? I have a long running job that takes up to 20 seconds and want to make it clear that the call hasn't dropped.
KYes, you can play a custom background sound during a tool call to indicate the call is active. You can set a custom audio file as background sound by specifying a URL in the
backgroundSound property of your call setup.

Rah i meant something different that the normal call background, a second one for while a tool call is in progress
RI just changed the "custom message response" to tell jokes instead.
EVapi doesn’t support a separate sound during tool calls, but you can simulate it by making the tool async, using a looping backgroundSound, and adding TTS messages before and after the tool completes..
