MCP tools not working. seems there is an outage

I am getting this error esult": "{"error": "Failed to connect to MCP server"}", callId: f8c4645a-2583-405d-8629-bed4602cf091 Double checked my mcp server and no messages were sent to the server. can confirm it was running fine with no new changes since it was last tested

I have also been experiencing the same issue recently with different MCP servers. Happened yesterday around the same time and again today. Same as @Raju the error on the logs is: "result": "{"error": "Failed to connect to MCP server"}" while I was able to test my MCP test tool and it’s working. Here is an example of a call id where I experienced that issue: e30652ec-34fd-4aec-8f7f-235d11d6171f

Maybe they don't have 24/7 support - which is bad news - It's a shame support is lacking

yeah its a shame. i do believe it is a vapi/ghl issue. however, i will share that i did make a fallback case. in the meantime. maybe we can take this as an opportunity to make our solutions bulletproof.

@COB Tom981 If you don’t mind sharing, what’s your fallback option? Direct API call with another tool that the model will use if the first one fails?

well since i’m doing an appointment setter that checks availabilities. If the availability check doesn’t work, i just grab their preferred date and time to book in anyways. then i send it through a review/approve workflow so that the call completes successfully and we can capture the lead. then i can have someone look at the incoming ‘request’ with the preferred date and time, and do a manual check whether the appointment can fit into the calendar so normally my workflow is 1. check availability 2. book appointment. the fallback workflow is: 1. get a preferred time and date 2. check availability manually ^

Great idea for now that is whilst they get their act together Or we create the function ourselves Vapi's is super flaky I pledge that when we have a workaround (replit) and its robust I will share with all FOC

yeah i figured i should probably create the function myself. only problem is that checking availabilities is a bit beyond my skill level especially with GHL calendars. Unless it isn’t as hard as it really seems?

@Shubham Bajaj can you please help wit hthis its still not fixed after 24 hours. not sure what is going on @Vapi Team doesn't work for me. we have a client onboarding postponed to today all because of this and it looks like its not gonna be up anytime soon

same issue here on a custom mcp server that was previously working fine. the vapi assistant suddenly started making POST requests to the SSE endpoint which fail. the mcp testing tool in the vapi dashboard still works, it's just the tool calling from the assistant that broke.

Hi, we apologize for the long wait. After reviewing the logs for the provided call id, we would like to know how you are conducting your tests for your MCP outside of VAPI. If this MCP issue is widespread, we will flag this for our team for them to take a look.

In my case i can use the mcp tool to check the mcp endpoint. Also have used the mcp inspector tool outside of vapi and it all works. The issue here is that the mcp server doesn't seem to respond when triggered from the tool call

can you check chat id 436c0f60-bb29-457e-b977-5d5de73353e6 the tool is actually calling another tool id not the one configured. It is supposed to call tool id 470e52ab-f7ce-4b80-9234-8e407c0e6efc but is calling tool id d6516899-f7db-4b09-89d6-122bffd64a76 this is the assistant id 8acb71ce-47d3-4b88-a356-a96783e6ecd0

Therefore, I kindly request you to try again and let me know how it goes for you. If it fails, please share the call IDs. Yes, we are not available 24/7; we have fixed working hours.
